Our Resources

“Grocery Rescue” Program.  We “rescue” thousands of pounds of groceries, including fresh produce, meat, dairy and pastries, from local stores such as Costco, Fred Meyer, Target, Walmart and Starbucks.  Our commercial trucks pick up donated groceries 6 days a week.

Food Donations.  We rely on regular donations of eggs and bread from Broadview Farms and Franz Bakery. Northwest Harvest and Food Lifeline of Seattle donate surplus food each month.

Food Drives.  We receive donations of food from local businesses, organizations and churches who organize food drives on our behalf.

Grants.  In 2011, we received a grant from the McIntyre Foundation for significant facility improvements.  Last year we purchased and installed walk-in freezers and coolers.  This year we are building a walkway and an awning to provide our clients shelter from inclement weather while waiting in the food line.  More improvements that will directly benefit our clients are in progress.
