3 Ways to Help During Hunger Action Month

September is Hunger Action Month

Hunger is real for 1 in 8 of your neighbors. Choose to stand against hunger this September. Each action helps us get one step closer to ending hunger in our community.

Here are three ways you can learn, commit, and spread the word during Hunger Action Month.

1. Learn and share

Approximately 12% of people in Skagit County are experiencing food insecurity, and during the pandemic, food banks have been serving even more people. Learn about hunger in your community and share facts and resources with your friends and family on Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter.

2. Become a volunteer

Spending a few hours each month volunteering makes an enormous difference for food banks like Helping Hands that rely on volunteer support as well as the families we serve. Learn more about how you can strengthen your community through volunteering on our website.

3. Donate

Your donation to Helping Hands directly impacts the community. Through your generous support, we can reliably provide food for our community. Consider becoming a monthly recurring donor. These donations help us plan for the future, and for $25 you can feed a family of 4 for a month. Make a one-time or monthly donation in honor of Hunger Action Month.

Follow Helping Hands on Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter to stay informed and learn about more opportunities to get involved!

However you participate in Hunger Action Month this September, thank you for taking action and choosing to stand against hunger.
