Helping Hands in the Kitchen: Green Tea Rice

In today’s recipe, we will introduce you to a nutritious and flavorful dish called Green Tea Rice. Packed with antioxidants and flavor, this dish is sure to impress. So, let’s get started and learn how to make Green Tea Rice!

GREEN TEA RICE

SERVES: 2-4

EQUIPMENT: Stove, serving plate/bowl, medium pot with lid, knife, cutting board

INGREDIENTS

  • 2 cups water
  • 2 ea green tea bags
  • 1 cup white rice, washed
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 cup milk (almond, oat, 2%)
  • 2 tbsp sugar, maple syrup, or honey
  • Optional Toppings:
    • Fresh cut mango or fruit
    • Fresh chopped scallions or cilantro
    • Choice of nuts (walnuts, pecans, pine nuts, etc.)
    • Grilled salmon

PREPARATION

  1. In medium pot, add two cups of water. Bring it to a boil.
  2. Reduce heat to medium-low, and add tea bags.
  3. Brew the green tea bags for 5-7 minutes.
  4. Remove the tea bags.
  5. Add rice to water. Cover pot.
  6. Cook for 15 minutes. Turn off heat.
  7. Stir in butter and sugar, and milk.
  8. Let sit (3-5 mins on hot stove eye) with lid on until the liquid absorbs.
  9. Serve in a bowl and top with fresh cut mango. Enjoy!
